History
The property was purchased in March 1928 from the Irish Land Commission, for £250, which was paid in cash. It was bought by trustees: Most Rev. Brendan O’Kane D.D, Bishop of Derry; M. Mary McKenna IBVM, M.Gabriel McLoughlin IBVM, and Rev William Doherty, P.P. Buncrana. Account books indicate improvement works were undertaken from April-December 1928.
Originally used as a summer holiday house for a month each summer by the community of Loreto Omagh. In 1994, a decision was taken to open “Linsfort Centre” providing retreats, holidays, renewals and retreats for sisters, priests, diocesan groups, counselling and personal development for young people who were unemployed or employed in local factories
(Including Fruit of the Loom), along with enabling small peace initiatives through facilitating ecumenical groups who appreciate meeting in a neutral venue, led by Sr Anne McDaid IBVM.



PRINCIPLE RESIDENCE

Good decorative order throughout, well presented. The entire building has been modernised some years ago. New cental heating systems (gas) together wth double-glazing has been installed.
